Our Story

From Mexico City to San Antonio.

Casa Morgana began when Kiren Miret, a close friend of Dora’s family, traveled to Italy and trained as a Gelato Master. She returned to Mexico City and founded Helados Casa Morgana, where authentic Italian craft met Latin flavors and traditions.

One of the most beloved traditions: the late-night Dia de los Muertos sales, where Kiren served Pan de Muerto gelato made to taste like the bread itself. Orange blossom, sugar, the warmth of family gathered late into the night.

Today, Luis and Dora carry that tradition forward in San Antonio. Every batch is still made the same way: all natural ingredients, original recipes, no shortcuts.

Many of our gelatos are gluten free. Allergen details vary by flavor and rotate with our case. Please ask at the counter for the most current information on todays selection.
Yes. Our sorbets are always vegan and dairy free, including our Pears in Red Wine. Four sorbets are always available in the case.
Several of our flavors are nut free. Because we work with pistachios and other nuts in our kitchen, please ask at the counter so we can guide you to safe options based on your needs.
Our gelatos do not rely on egg yolks the way many custards do. Recipes vary by flavor. Ask at the counter for specifics on any flavor in the case.
We balance sugar carefully so each flavor reads as its own ingredient, not as sweetness. Many guests find our gelato less sweet than typical commercial ice cream.
